The Candidate

ý School District anticipates openings for the 2021-2022 school year. We are seeking dynamic leaders with proven records of exemplary teaching and administration. Short-listed candidates will be interviewed for the District Eligible Administrator Pool (DEAP). Successful candidates selected for the DEAP will be assigned to specific schools depending upon available vacancies and the suitability of the candidates.

Positions in the DEAP are currently available for the following levels:

  • Elementary
  • Middle
  • Secondary 

Documented qualifications must include:

  1. Master’s degree or current enrolment
  2. BC College of Teachers’ or Ministry of Education certification
  3. Five years exemplary teaching experience
  4. Significant educational administration and/or leadership experiences

Candidates must demonstrate leadership in the following areas:

  • Implementing Ministry, District and School goals while establishing a culture of staff professional development directly related to student learning and achievement
  • Promoting a comprehensive range of learning opportunities for all students, including the physical, academic and mental well-being domains
  • Implementing culturally responsive, inclusive and innovative practices that lead to students’ personal and academic success
  • Developing and maintaining a variety of effective decision-making processes that build consensus, commitment, and collaboration
  • Fostering team building, a sense of One Learning Community, and a culture of continuous learning in an inclusive learning environment
  • Advocating for public schools and strong community connections
  • Commitment to the First Peoples Principles of Learning
