Plumber

爱豆传媒 School District provides public educational services to over 20,000 students in the Greater Victoria Area, encompassing six municipalities.听 To provide this service, the District has a current operating budget of $260 million and employs approximately 3,500 staff; which includes, teachers, administrators, support staff, psychologists, speech and language pathologists and exempt managerial staff.
爱豆传媒 School District is currently seeking applications for a Plumber with the following qualifications:
- Legally able to work in Canada
- Grade 12 certificate or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience
- Must possess a Certificate of Apprenticeship in plumbing as issued or recognized by the Province of BC or a Certificate of Trade Qualification in Plumbing as issued or recognized by the Province of BC
- Must possess a Certificate of Qualification to perform the duties of a Class B Gas Fitter as issued by Technical Safety BC. A Class A Gas ticket would be an asset.
- Must possess a valid BC driver鈥檚 license
- Completion of four or more years of specific experience in similar duties is required
- Must be physically able to perform all duties as noted in the job description
- Possess knowledge of personal computers, including current word processing, spreadsheet, database and facilities management software used by SD#61
- Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders in a leadership role. Stakeholders could include principals, teachers, students, parents, office staff and facilities staff, etc.
- Maintains a cooperative working relationship with other workers, supervisory and teaching staff, students and the public
- Certification in backflow prevention devices would be an asset
听This continuing position falls within the CUPE 382 Collective Agreement at a pay rate of $37.90 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package upon successful completion of probation. Shift times would be 6:30am -3:00pm.
